See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

The Black Horse has been in existence for over 350 years and run by same family since 1905. This unspoilt gem is hidden away in the woods of the Chiltern Hills AONB up a narrow lane to the north of the village.

The inside of the pub is across 3 rooms with the bar to the right. Beer is served by gravity dispense from the cellar. Well worth seeking out, it welcomes an eclectic mix of locals, cyclists, walkers and horse riders. Food is filled rolls and baguettes, including bacon and sausage, and chips, served at lunchtimes.

Dogs welcome in the pub if they are quiet and on a lead, but otherwise they will need to stay outside.

South Oxfordshire CAMRA Pub of the Season for Autumn 2023.
